At Delaney Wright we are proud to offer a wide-variety of enrichment classes that are supplemental to our daily classroom curriculum. Each class has a designated time for their daily enrichment class, with the daily subject following a weekly schedule. Enrichment classes are included in the cost of tuition and are tailored to each age group by our enrichment class teachers, who are specially chosen to teach these classes because of their qualifications in the class subjects. The enrichment classes we offer vary year-to-year but a few that we’ve previously offered include:
Dance, Yoga & Meditation
Mindful body movement is proven to help children with self-regulation skill building. Children explore movement and expand their physical development through different dance moves and styles, yoga poses and routines, and mindful breathing
Spanish
There is ample evidence that integrating other languages into early childhood programs benefits children in several ways. It teaches them respect for other languages, while also helping them to feel comfortable learning a second language. In an increasingly multilingual society, the importance of teaching a second language cannot be understated. Children learn basic vocabulary through songs, puppets, and pictures in an immersive class (meaning the class is taught in Spanish).
S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
In an ever-changing world, exposure and time spent exploring science, engineering, and math in a focused class encourages children to think critically while also developing their problem solving skills. Children engage in exciting science exploration labs that allow them to investigate a variety of subjects.
Garden
We are so fortunate to have beautiful community gardens on-site, which allows the children to learn about the plants we grow and processes they see through our unique, hands-on garden curriculum. From planting new flowers to picking fresh fruits and veggies to digging in the dirt and looking for wiggly worms, the garden is full of enriching space for the children, staff, parents, and community to enjoy.
