We believe that family and parental involvement is essential to children’s success and to the success of the programs at Delaney Wright. We want to foster healthy partnerships and effective communication with families so that we can all work together to ensure the success and happiness of each child. In addition to enhancing children’s experiences at school, parental involvement enriches the quality of our program. Each Delaney Wright family brings their own uniqueness to the program and the entire Delaney Wright community benefits from the involvement of each and every family.
As stated in the Parent Handbook, DWFAP requires all families to perform 12 volunteer hours per year. These hours can be completed multiple hours at a time or spread out on a monthly basis.
There are many ways that parents can complete these hours! Some ways include:
Volunteering to set-up or break-down or decorate for special events, such as the Winter or Spring Show or our annual Gala
Volunteering at our bake sales or coffee shop
Serving as Room Parent for your child’s class (this will fulfill all of your parent hour requirements for the year)
Assisting with fundraising (T-Shirt sales, restaurant nights, etc.)
Participating in the classroom (reading stories, taking care of a classroom pet, etc.)
Weekend “work” days where parents can hang out with other parents and help beautify and maintain our campuses
